Bio
Noah Riskind enters his third season as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Southern Maine Community College.
In his first two seasons, Riskind has guided the Seawolves to a 20-11-2 overall record, including an 11-3-2 campaign and a 7-1 mark in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) play in 2025. The Seawolves finished second in the conference standings while producing three All-Conference selections, three USCAA First Team All-Americans (Louis Sehr, Tim Eulenberger, and Ignacio Ruiz Garcia), one USCAA Second Team All-American (Jaxon Olsen), and three YSCC All-Academic honorees. During his debut season in 2024, Riskind led SMCC to a 9-8 overall record and a No. 4 seed in the YSCC Tournament, highlighted by USCAA First Team All-American honors for Louis Sehr and Ignacio Ruiz Garcia, while Luke Perry, Ibrahim Mwamba, and Ian Allen earned USCAA Academic All-American recognition.
Previous to his appointment at SMCC, Riskind served as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Bates College for two seasons (2022-23) after spending the previous two years as an assistant coach with the Bobcats.
A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Riskind graduated from Bates in 2016 after a four-year playing career with the men's soccer program. He served as team captain for two seasons and earned the First Captain's Award as well as the George L. Wigton Scholar Athlete Award. A defender, Riskind started 54 matches during his collegiate career, including every NESCAC regular season match over his final three seasons. He was also a member of the 2015 Portland Phoenix PDL Northeast Division championship team.
Riskind earned his Master's degree in Education from Boston University in 2018. Following graduation, he joined Teach For America before spending two academic years in Colombia as an English Teaching Assistant on consecutive Fulbright grants. While in Colombia, he also coached youth soccer through Fundación Tiempo de Juego, an experience that further shaped his belief in the power of sport to build community and create opportunity.
Following his return to Maine, Riskind worked with the Rosati Leadership Academy in Lewiston while coaching at Bates College. In addition to his duties at SMCC, he now serves as Director of Impact Programming for Portland Hearts of Pine, helping lead community engagement initiatives and expanding access to soccer throughout Maine.
Riskind resides in southern Maine.
